Since my topic would be on elephants, I followed Voice for Asian Elephants Society on Twitter. In this account, I saw dreadful data: The Asian elephant population has declined by nearly 50 percent over the 75 years. They now inhabit less than 20 percent of their historic geographic range. It would be a disaster for humans if we cannot live peacefully with our “friends”. I also followed Journal of Animal Ecology on Twitter. This account is a great one to capture animal ecology timely. For example, there was one tweet about testing how global warming changes freshwater communities. Therefore we must do something to save the freshwater community. There are so many animals live in there. I also found a great seabird biologist and behavioral ecologist at the Ox Zoo — Dr. Annette Fayet. She has done a lot of studies on birds. Anyone who is doing bird research should go check out her Twitter.
This week I responded to Fiona’s week 4’s Twitter updates, Daniel’s week 4 post, and Kelly’s week 4 post. Fiona has done a great job of researching multiple articles on Twitter. She not only focuses on researching her topic dolphins but also focuses on learning about other animals. Daniel did a wonderful job on the library searching and analyzing the two articles. The best part was connecting the two articles. He also put a lot of images to help us to understand. In Kelly’s work, the two articles were well written and easy to understand. But it would be better if she works on the connections between the two articles.

Emily's review of Phoebe's Research Agenda page:
Heya Phoebe! Judging by your sources, I believe you are going to be focusing on elephants. I like the simplicity of your page, though I think maybe you should try spacing out the citations since they can be mistaken as a single citation. I checked them out and they appear to be research articles so that's good! I like that you included what your plans for each article is, it makes it easier to get an idea of what topic you'll be leaning toward. Keep up the good work, and make sure to space out your citations!
