Week 6 Twitter Update & AB review

Twitter Summary

The best tweet must be this article on the elephant’s perspective. When comes to solving conflict between humans and wildlife, the current efforts are not enough. They consider immediate human-centric concerns and offer deterrents against wildlife rather than offer solutions to current problems. We should be taking the elephant’s perspective to integrate humans and animals. I think the most interesting account is @tonifrohoff. She is an elephant and cetacean ethologist and advocate. People who study elephants and cetaceans should go check out her account. The interesting detail that I found on Twitter would be south Africa plans to end the controversial captive lion industry. But what happened to the existing lions? Do they go to the wild or zoo? I used #elephants to surf on Twitter and I found a lot of useful information on elephants.

AB Review

I commented on Wenqian’s research agenda page. Her big three was about elephants and social behavior. I think the quality was very good and the three research articles connected very well on the same theme — elephant’s social behavior. She also summarizes each main idea very well. I like her layout. It was very concise and easy to read. All three sources including the bib are all separated. The separation keeps people stay focus on the writing and would not be easily distracted. I think she could put some pictures on the page to make it more vivid. But I believe she is in a good shape on finding useful sources.
